Drivers license translation in Toronto and Canada
If you are looking to translate your foreign drivers license and abstract in Canada, there are a few things you should be aware of:
- Translation has to be done by the certified translator accredited by one of Canadian professional translation associations, or a by Provincial or Federal Government.
- Translations done by foreign specialists are not accepted in Canada
- Non-Canadian Embassies, Consulates or High Commissions offices approved translations will, usually, be accepted as well.
This rule simply means that for most of newcomers or temporary residents in Canada who would like to have their drivers license to be translated, they will have to use professional certified Canadian translator assistance. Such translator has to have accreditation from one of the translators associations such as ATIO or OTTIAQ or being accredited by one of the Government’s departments.
